Turbo Bowling Accessories has stepped up its commitment to college bowling by announcing the expansion of its support to Collegiate Bowling Programs for the 2016-17 season.
Turbo will sponsor 15 Collegiate programs this season. The expanded relationship represents a firm commitment by Turbo to college bowling, and to the sustained growth and development of bowling on all levels.
These sponsored programs represent NCAA, NAIA, Club and USBC Collegiate Divisions from throughout the country,” said Lori Mraz, President of Turbo Bowling Accessories. “Last year we only had 5 sponsored teams. However, for the 2016-17 season, we have deepened our commitment to youth bowling through our collegiate sponsorships.”
Women’s Teams bowling under the Turbo banner this season are Sam Houston State University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Central Missouri, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Pikeville. Both men’s and women’s teams will be represented from Notre Dame College, Morehead State University, the University of Wisconsin and Webber International University. The men’s team from Ohio State University will be sponsored as well.
We believe that by helping colleges and universities enrich their programs, it will encourage continued interest in the sport,” said Mraz. “We also hope that students who take up the sport will invite their families and friends to join in and take part in our great sport.”
All coaches get a backpack full of products and tools they can use on the road to help with coaching responsibilities. Coaches are also given an annual team credit they can use to acquire whatever products they need for team use. With Turbo’s sponsorship of USBC Collegiate, all registered USBC Collegiate Teams have the opportunity to purchase accessories direct from Turbo at a reasonable discount.
Bill Straub, University of Nebraska Head Coach, says that working with Turbo has been nothing but extraordinary, and takes pride in being associated with the company. “Turbo is a class organization from top to bottom,” said Straub, whose Lady Cornhuskers were ranked No. 1 in the preseason National Tenpin Coaches Association poll. “They’re in a highly competitive business for what they produce. They’re products are top shelf, but their people and their goals for our industry overall put them over the top.”
Turbo’s expanding support ties into the growth and development of the Turbo Tech Collegiate Expo. Held in conjunction with USBC’s Junior Gold Championships, the Collegiate Expo includes educational seminars for parents and collegiate coaches which further the development of young bowlers.
“There is tremendous value in helping our coaches succeed, not only for themselves, but for the athletes they train, encourage and inspire,” said Mraz. “The better they can communicate and teach, the stronger their programs will be, and it increases the chance that the player will bowl for their entire lives.” “The toughest part of college bowling is what happens after graduation,” said Straub. “Players are highly involved during college, and don’t continue to bowl after college. The way Turbo is pushing to grow and develop lifetime bowlers is great, and we support their efforts.”
